From a humble beginning in the 1920’s, as an exclusive saddlery & leather works store, J R WHITE has become a household name for sports goods and equipment in Fiji. 

The store was operated by Mr White of Australia.  Mr White sold the business to Mr Bisessar in 1935 on the condition the name J R WHITE will be retained. Mr Bisessar did this and continued with leatherworks and saddlery business for over 20 years.

In 1958, Mr Dwarka Prasad, joined his dad Mr Bisessar in the business and ventured into sports equipment.  Through his vision and hard work J R White established itself as a premium store for branded and quality sports goods and equipment. Under his leadership, the company opened 2 stores in Suva and 1 in Lautoka and expanded into trophy sales and engraving.
